Authentication

Ulsav supports a wide range of secure and fast authentication mechanisms.

Instead of relying on traditional password-based authentication systems, Ulsav uses passwordless authentication systems. Hence, users do not need to remember or manually enter a password to sign up or login to Ulsav.

By removing passwords – which are often weak, reused across services, or susceptible to phishing attacks – passwordless authentication reduces the risk of account breaches and identity theft.

Ulsav supports both Email Address and Phone Number as user identities, and an account can have an email address and phone number attached to it.

Organizations can require both of these identities or set one of them required and the other optional.

Users can register and log into their Ulsav account through their WhatsApp by entering an OTP sent to their WhatsApp number. This is the default, and most preferred method of authentication on Ulsav, as it is fast,

Users can register and log into their Ulsav account through their entering SMS OTP sent to their phone numbers. It is usually suggested to use WhatsApp to login via phone number, however, using SMS OTP can be a handy option if the phone number is not registered with WhatsApp.

Users can login with their Email through an OTP sent to their email. Users are suggested to check in the junk / spam folders if they do not see the email.

Users can register and log into their Ulsav accounts through popular social accounts they have.

For portals, the user will be redirected into the global Ulsav portal for authentication and redirected back when the user chooses to login/register via Social Login.

When logged-in with their social account, the email of the user will be auto-verified. If the user already had an account on the portal / Ulsav with the same email, the accounts will be merged.

For Portals, organizations can setup their SSO provider as an authentication mechanism. This will allow organizations to restrict participants, verify participants, as well as provide special discounts to them.
